I am fairly sure that the issue is incompatible versions caused by steam vs. retail.

The connectivity remains green while attempting to connect. 

Whoever sends the invite gets a message "could not invite... incompatible version etc"

The recipient gets a message "you were invited to a game but were unable to join... blah blah"

I have checked with about 5 people that I was able to connect to and they have all had retail.

Of the three friends that I have that have installed EF, I cannot play with any of them.  I can find, on occasion, one or two games that are starting and join them, but I know there are more out there. 

I think the issue is that they ALL have the steam version of CoH.  Please look into this.  We are going to try running it without steam.  Will update soon...

Edit:  Ok, so the fact that they have ANY expansion or version of CoH downloaded from steam causes EF to think they have an incompatible version of the game.  Please fix this ...

Edit:  Steam versions cannot play with each other either.

too fail to figure out how to post the screenshot I took, so take my word for it.

I was playing Langres and my katsyusha just drove through one of those stone walls near the north base.

You will notice when putting up sand bags that one side has the bags and the other had a wood backing. If you want the back of the sand bags to be facing you soldiers you need to click and drag a certain direction, maybe its the same thing with the trenches. Not that the directions the sand bags face matters, just making a point.

wait.. did they reskin sandbags? If so, +1000000 cool points.

deters flanking and the zis can do the lion's share of dmg.

For now conscripts take no pop cap, so unit preservation would get a tad overwhelming for the axis. 

It CAN be balanced without retreat.  Certain suppression breaking abilities need to be toned down.  Well, a lot needs toned down, but it can be balanced. 

I do agree manpower needs to be added to the armory upgrades and possibly fuel.
