Bugs & Tech Support / Can't seem to download updates...

I'm unable to "Check for Updates" in the EF launcher.
After I click it, it takes a minute "gathering information" then gives me an error message that reads as follows:A connection attempt falied because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
that's it.
Also, it takes a really long time to load EF maps. Is that a problem for everyone, or just me?
