So, I was playing against hard AI in the Stalingrad Railway map against a single hard Wehrmacht AI, and, since I'd been reading about tactics involving barbed wire, I started trying to do some of that; sealing off areas I didn't want infantry breezing through, encircling points I owned to prevent capture, stuff like that. My conscripts went ahead and took the center of the map, fortifying it to the Nth degree, and then the AI just...stopped attacking me.

I sent a sniper in to spy on the enemy, and they'd all gathered in a chokepoint near their base. Also, they were mass producing StuGs, and ONLY StuGs, as quickly as they could get the resources together, but they weren't doing anything with them. They were just sitting around the Tank Depot (or whatever the Wehrmacht have for that), and clogged up the base.

So, I went in and decided to clean some house with T-34s and IS-2s, and the battle was actually somewhat spectacular. However, the AI refused to rebuild any building I blew up, so once it was gone, it stayed gone, and those other guys forming the defensive checkpoint? They never came over to help defend.

What exactly is going on here? Is my barbed wire frenzy breaking the AI's mind? Are they sitting in there, trying to figure out how to get to those all important fuel points without resorting to wire cutters?

oh wow, I really have to hand it to you guys. These Eastern Front maps are all extremely pretty! Especially Zhytomyr. The north half of it is very wide and open, and give this great forest war feel, and as you progress further south, you get into this whole urban combat in a blown out city kind of feeling.

See, even though I've only been playing this game a short time, this is something I've come to love about it. The maps are, by nature, very wide open and expansive, and they're not just filled with decoration. Everything we see here can be used as cover, and can be knocked over, ran down, blown up, destroyed, etc. It's not just an empty world. It actually DOES something!

I reinstalled and recrewing weapons seems to work perfectly now. Thank you very much for replying to me :)

Though, now that I think about it, can certain maps interfere with the fixs the EF mod team has made? I was playing on the Death Camp map when these crashes occured, which is based off Auschwitz (wanted to do a reenactment of the Soviets liberating the camp), and no matter what I tried, the No PopCap condition would not apply there.

Bugs & Tech Support / Recrew crash persist?

First time poster here. I'm deeply enjoying the Eastern Front mod, but just last night, I ran into the weapon recrew crash bug. This persists with 100% frequency. I got the new FactionFix.dll and that didn't seem to fix it. So, I'm just wondering if this has a fix yet, or are we still in "sit and wait for the devs to write work-around code" mode?
