Bugs & Tech Support / Help: How To Unlock All Mission In Single Player?« on: June 06, 2011, 03:35:50 AM »
Hello, over the time period during which I've had COH I've completed all 41 missions twice plus another time completed about 30+ of them and I've done the American campaign several times. The problem is my Windows XP crashses completely and everything is lost quite frequently, about every 2 months. This has happened about 3 times and during those 3 times all missions I've unlocked have been reset and I have none of them. What annoys me is that I want to play some of the missions now but I have no incentive to go through an entire campaig again to play the later ones such as the last mission of the American campaign.
Can someone tell me what I can type or where I can go to be able to unlock all the missions? 4
Balance Discussion / Re: Soviet Tanks-Axi tanks« on: April 12, 2011, 06:46:51 AM »
I see the logic in your argument regarding mass production of Is's but what I can say is that they are extremely expensive, it takes a while to gather the resources to produce even your first Is before even producing a second.
What I would suggest in this case (Since they are no trouble in Pop cap mode, there is no need to nerf the pop capacity) Either increase the manpower or fuel cost of the IS-2 to give disincentive to save up for an Is-2 since if one dicides to, they'll have to issue some spending cuts on reinforcing and deploying other stuff. Or it could be done that the accuracy of IS-2's against infantry is decreased, I agree with you when you say they are too accurate against infantry, that needs to be decreased. Although in no pop cap game mode I think this will make the game "fairer" I myself am a soviet player so. *Decrease costs of IS-2.....* 5
Balance Discussion / Re: Axis Mortar Effectiveness Against Soviet Infantry. Too Great!!!« on: April 12, 2011, 06:40:32 AM »Axis mortars won't be nerfed if that's what you're asking for. Maybe I'm not an expert, but i don't see a balance issue here.Alright, in that case I give up any attempt to deliver anything if neither of you are unable to notice any flaws. If your not going to nerf the axis mortar, then at least space out the retarded soviet units that tend to stay close to each other in a crater. Fix that, just like you guys fixed the charge of the conscripts which did no favours. I hate it ever time they jump all together into a crater, wehrmacht grenadier throws a grendade and 4 of them die... 6

My question is perfectly clear, but it also depends on what you consider to be my question. The first post is me just ranting about how unbalanced the given situation is, the only question that I have posted is in my 2nd post at start.

And is it not an issue that soviet infantry do not disperse when stationary, that they all run into a tiny corner, which makes them a perfect target for a mortar strike? Neither is it an issue that mortars are over powers vs soviet infantry.
No, if there are methods to avoid these problems then it's fine... Just as the fact that the wehrmacht spam paks... Just use snipers, no issues needed for resolvement. 8
Balance Discussion / Axis Mortar Effectiveness Against Soviet Infantry. Too Great!!!« on: April 12, 2011, 03:39:43 AM »
I have noticed over the past couple days a few issues with both axis mortars (teams and halftracks) and the intensity of soviet troops in a given area.
The first issue which is annoying is that the accuracy and damage that mortars impose on soviet units is way too accurate and damaging, respectively. It is just so shocking and frustrating that volley after volley rains, and I take such high casulties due to these mortars, it's unsustainable!!! Reduce the accuracy and damage of mortars vs soviet troops.... The second issue that I have which ampifies the first, is that the soviet units they disperse themselves upon a very small area. So, having numerous squads under control simultaneously, they all move into say a single crater or a majority move against a single wall. Which can be extremely frustrating, since if a mortar round hits them, they all die!!! And given the cost of reinforcing say 10 units due to a single unfortunate hit, it's so expensive! Space out the communist idiots... The reason why I've come here to complain is as follows: I was playing a game 2 vs 3 of which 4 are CPU, myself as the soviets. The situation was as follows: I had 3 squads, Riflemen (7), tank hunters (4) and command squad (5). With a maximum of 16 units present at the time, probably a few less due to casulties from axis infantry and such. Basically I decided to storm a small emplacement, trying to destroy 1 mortar halftrack. All let's say 16 of my troops jumped into a single crater, and bang!!! All I see is about a dozen of green numbers!!! I lost about 10 units to a single mortar round!!! The cost of resupply is huge! I couldn't be bothered to count how many units I had left, so I in immediate frustration, anger and confusion just quit the game and came here. This isn't the only time, this was only sufficent for me to finally have incentive to complain. I hope that the EF balancers of developers or whatever fix this for a next patch. 9
Strategy and Tactics / Re: Requesting suggestions on how to tackle certain axis units as a soviet player.« on: April 12, 2011, 02:00:28 AM »
When I said Riflemen I meant Strelky I just don't like calling them that, since it's a pretty retarded name for Riflement, it's incorrect, translating shooter (1) into Russian gives strelok (1), translating back gives Archer. If I meant conscripts or guards, I'd have called them that.
Also, what you guys suggested, I already do, that is how I take my casualties constantly, however my mortars don't reach the enemy paks or destroy the mortar halftracks. I'll try using snipers next time I play, see how it fares. My tanks are always beaten by the pak's so I'll not deploy them, similarly, they don't hit, they almost always miss, and flanking results in being hit by anti tank infantry or stugs, and the deployment of T90 is costly given their effectiveness. T-90's also all crap.. They rarely ever hit infantry, all they do is suppress. 10
Strategy and Tactics / Requesting suggestions on how to tackle certain axis units as a soviet player.« on: April 11, 2011, 08:13:13 PM »
Hello reader, playing as soviets is fun, it's quite interesting as well but I am unable to use their full might to my advantage. Namely in response to the threats axis pose to me as follows:
How to tackle a wehrmatch Pak-40? It's each to own axis infantry and make a bitch out of a Stug IV or Panther with the soviets with Zis-2's and SU-100's but I can huge amounts of problems every time a Pak appears and starts to oppress my tanks from long distance. Problem is, I don't know how to reach them to take care of them without taking many infantry losses and bringing in Stalin's organ in numbers is quite expensive and it is hard to do if I have to keep reinforcing my Riflemen. So what do people suggest? How to tackle a Panzer Elite mortar halftrack? The 2nd issue I have is every time a mortar halftrack creates an artificial hale from behind a wall of German Stugs or such. I don't know how to destroy a mortar halftrack, I can't approach it with Zis-2's since they can't get to it in time before the half track reduces it to rubble. The Zis needs to pummel the stugs and my riflemen need to kill all nearby infantry. I can't do it since like I said my Zis gets blown up by the halftrack. Any suggestions? 11

Some very interesting pieces; nice work. It would be nice if some more of these musical pieces were made, preferably a little bit more communist to go with the main menu and that Russian Opera song.
Which bring me onto my question: Why is the Russian Opera song not in the playlist on youtube? The one that is ocassionally heard in the main menu, with the men speaking Russian, but it sounds kinda operish, I can't explain it anymore than that. 14

Interesting bug, although personally I can't manage to enlarge the image, so I can barely see it. Hopefully I don't encounter it.
![]() Also by the way, it's Ingenary, which is basically just Engineers in russian, so you might aswell call them engineers. Post Merge: January 23, 2011, 03:57:33 AM You have to research the T-34/85 upgrade at the armoury as usual pathfinder.Yes I see that now. At the time I guess I didn't research it. 15

Ah yes, you are right, the 5% bug, it is so annoying sometimes! But is a very happy moment when your heavy tank isn't swallowed up as a result of it.
![]() Since Relic fixed it in COHO, is there anyway inwhich you could fix it. ![]() |
