That error happens when you have installed any Company of Heroes mod from STEAM. If you delete the file steam_appid.txt it will stop giving you that error... until you run again the STEAM mod for COH you have installed.
I don't.. just plain CoH and the EF Mod.. Start CoH normally but with -dev -mod eastern_front parameter. Don't trust the launcher.

Hey all, Yesterday I could play normally. Today it doesn't start with an error: Game is not being run as a known Company of Heroes product. Try again by launching game from Steam. - verified game files; - reinstalled EF. - AV and any protection is off. I can't find any solution.. suggestions? Kind regards, Me

I think it is the latest:
according to launcher I run the following versions::
EF version 2.3.0.0
Launcher version 3.2.0.0
No updates available
According to main menu I run the following versions:
EF version: 2.3.0.0
CoH: 2.700.2.42
On the download page, i can only see a download for 2.3.00.

I have a gift-copy of all 3 the parts in my steam inventory, ever since CoH1 was available on steam, As that has been a few months by now  and I didn't use them, or plan on using them, I might as well help you out Just let me know if you still need them Kind regards, FatalFlashBack

Hey guys.. just another small issue I found
the Opel Maultier can be allocated twice, and then it can not be built again.. I just built 6 of those, and can allocate all of them, but I can not build new ones or rebuilt destroyed ones

I can't reply on your whole post, just the last part..
If I recall correctly, the secure production upgrade is only available on 1 truck per time,
so if you upgrade it on the second CT, the third can't have it.. might've changed in to the new update though, it has been a long time since I played with the Brits.

Are you using the latest version of EF (1.800) on retail CoH? Then that's why you have the crash.
I don't even have the old retail version installed anymore I will try to reinstall everything CoH-related this afternoon, and see if it works Skorch, you need the Steam-version, not the retail-version, see this post to see how to update/fix this: Eastern Front v1.8.0.1 is only compatible with the latest version of CoH which is 2.700, and you can get it only with Steam.
You can get more information in our announcement for the patch.

My game crashes to desktop when I hit " multiplayer" in the main menu
also when I try to join a friend's game, it crashes to desktop, making playing with friends impossible..

hey guys,
Since the last 2 updates from the EF mod, or maybe it's version 2.700 from CoH, my chosen reward vehicles don't get saved.. I need to choose them every time I start up a match.
I can select all of them, but after playing 1 game(either skirmish, an operation or campaign), they are all unselected again.
I don't know if I should attach any logs or files, so ask if you need any.

hey guys, I just reinstalled EF(did not have it installed at all on my steam version), when this occured:  i am playing version 1.800 of the mod, the game version is up to date too tested with whermacht, no problem.. just Soviet seems to have this issue

what is sad about not supporting the retail version? the retail version will soon be offline due to server changes on Relic's side.. so the whole game is moving on to the steam server/version? although, thanks for the patch, and the great mod

hey guys,
after reinstalling I had the "my documents" folder on a mapped network drive(too lazy to move my back-up back to the local hard-drive,
but this caused the game not starting(reliccoh.exe opens, but closes after 2 seconds),
after moving the my documents folder to the local hard drive, it works
tried it with vCOH, and that works, even with the "my documents" folder on the network.. it seems to be an issue with the EF-mod
game is installed local(D:\games\THQ\CoH), but the my document folder is on \\svr-frank\frank\my documents
anyone else experienced this? and is there any chance this will be fixed? I think it has to do with the "my games" folder within the documents
