Its just an idea^^
Myself is not a modder, I have no idea about this.
I got this ability in my mind, when I remember my time in the army^^
And then I combined it with the fact, that in war is nearly allways a close combat happening. So I thought: would be great in COH^^

Hello Guys
I got a new Idea for my Fanboy-Faction: Ostheer xD
It's called: "Klappspaten frei" (means like: "prepare folding spade"). And what is the sense of it?
It's a special ability for K98-Infantery that allows them, to use their folding spade for close combat. This makes them much more effectiv in nearest range.
For using this ability there are these requirements: U need to investigate this ability in the Ostheer-HQ, then u have to use 30 Munition for activating the ability. It will last a 45 secs and gives the infantery a high effective close-combat weapon. It has a Cooldown about 90 secs.
This is a new feature for CoH and makes in my opinion much sense to include it in EF (cause it was reality^^)
Maybe, if u don't like the Name of the ability, here is a secound one: "Sturmabwehrschießen". This is the Order in the "Bundeswehr" today. Means nearly the same^^

When I got now a Panther D and I take the research ( If I realy understand u right) so I can call-in now Panther A's, do the privios Panther D get the upgrade too? Or will they still be a Panther D and only the next, called-in Panther becomes then Version A?

Nice ideas, though stukas do fit in the doctrines better- especially if the stukas are invincible.
The Bombing- and Strafing-Run are even invincible, too  And I don't think its good to put it in a Doctrins-ability. In every Heeresgruppe were flightplanes in use, so why should only the south (for example) get some? When these abilities cost 150 Ammunition it would be a different style from the other fractions - like it is with the PE Panther Battlegroup. So they can call in without doctrins two tanks from offmap, so why shouldn't the Ostheer get this ability without doctrin? Would make the Ostheer clearly different and in a new way special

ahh, okay - I missed that point -.-
So then I got a got Alternative:
U can research the Ability: "Comradeship engages"
That means, when ur troops got casualties, then the surviving men rescue their wounded comrades and carry them to the HQ, where they become the typical zombies. To order this, u can implement a secound Retreat-Button, like the Brits got (Escape to Captain...). When u now order the "Comradeship engages"-ability, the retreat-speed gets reduced. Everybody can carry 1 wounded comrade. When there are more survived then injured, the guys without a mate on his back help carrying the others.
So, for example: The Retreatspeed ist only 0,6 with one guy carrying one comrade. Now there are two, who carrying one comrade so the retreatpeed only got decreased to 0,75. (just for example, the real balance can get later =) )

Cause German troops are expensive to train, strong and important, the Ostheer needs a good medical care.
But the German army was allways on the move forward, thats why there are no/less military hospitals.
For this they settle down many Mobile Army Surgical Hospitals (M.A.S.H.) (in german: "Verwundetensammelstelle").
Cause it needs mobility, an Opel Blitz 2,5t could excellent handle with this task.
Its like an british HQ-Truck. It settle down with tent and medical stuff near the frontline and 3 Medics jump out and searches for seriously injured people. A passive ability is that it heals every infantery-unit nearby. The costs for this is constant 1 Ammonition per Minute (for every station 1 ammunition per Minute) even when no unit gets healed.

I like the idea of implementing the " SdKfz. 3 „Maultier“ " with Nebelwerfer-42-upgrade.^^
Now a little bit more serious:
The SdKfz 253
Its mission is to observe the enemy - with an hugh area of sight it can observe from Berlin to Moskow and give the own artillery wonderful sight. It can detect camoflaged units and call in some mortar-barrage. But itself got no armament and less plating so it is very vulnerable.
The special passive ability: it can auto-camoflage after 10secs still standing in Cover (like the Goliath, but it can get detected^^).
So its a wonderful support-unit, but it got its weaknesses.

Hi guys, this is my first post here and I hope u can understand my very good english xD
So lets give it a try:
My idea is to implement a Doctrin-indepent Stuka-Attack-Flight. That means when a special Building got constructed (or something got researched), the ability becomes possible, like the Panther-Battlegroup in the PE.
the realization: Two Ju-87 D-Flightplanes come out of the sky (so the soviet anti-air-units can't fight them) and spread 8 bombs in an small round area (like the face of the Propwar-ability).
If this isn't what u like to implent, then maybe this other way: Two Ju-87 G (with 2 3,7cm-cannons under they wings) gives airsupport against the tankhorde of the soviets (like the Henschel-attackflight in PE).
The reason for my ideas:
The large wideness of the soviet land makes it necessiary for an airforce so the germans can fight fast and strong on the whole battlefield.^^
I hope u could understand everything, if not I will explain it in another way^^
