Bugs & Tech Support / Re: EF Generally affects my Vcoh Installation!

You can still start your vanilla CoH (just the normal way you did it before EF) then you can join any vanilla CoH game you like and watch vanilla CoH replays.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. If i wanted to watch replays from Vcoh i would just start the normal coh.

However, as the mod described in the FAQs :
Quote
Q: Does EF change my exisiting CoH?
A: No. EF does not modify your existing CoH in anyway. EF is started separately. And even when you start EF, you can still play everything as normal - all existing factions and game modes are still available and not changed in any way. EF is really more an expansion than a mod, it adds the Soviets as new allied faction and the new Eastern Front maps. In fact, you will never have to start your regular CoH again!

Apex as well mentioned in the shoutcasts before the release, "we may not even have to start our normal CoH again with EF".

Am I missing something?  ???

Hello guys and congrats for this awesome mod!

Although you said that EF will not affect our original coh in anyway, Im afraid it does. After particularly the 1.01 patch I cant watch replays from original coh (shown as sync error and) and can only connect to games that have EF mod running.. Is it just me or is it like this for everyone?

Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else, I havent found anything so I decided to post it.

Thanks in advance! :)

General Discussion / Re: Introduction & Russian casualties question

And yes, I'm fairly sure that the Soviet ZiS-5 Supply Truck can heal all friendly units.

How will the ZiS-6 mechanics work? Will it be healing like the American Triage centre (one-time investment for infinite healing)or like the CCS of the brits having to pay munis for a healing period?

My guess is that if it's going to be lets say like the american triage centre in a mobile version, that would render the other allied factions healing methods useless/pointess as the american will have exactly the same healing in a mobile version (so no need to build a triage) and the brit will no longer have to pay 40 munis to heal his troops since he has free heals from the russian player and make the ccs a medic tent only. (always refering to 2v2s)

Friendly medics won't be able to rescue the cheaper Soviet infantry for the balance reasons stated.

I guess that pretty much answers the original question. Thanks!!  :)

why you think you can play russians + brit? thats stupid...  ;)

Because the game's structure would allow different allied factions to be teamed..  ::) :P
...or will it not? :-X

General Discussion / Introduction & Russian casualties question

First of all, a friendly hello from me and my clan "Reign of Madness" from GameReplays.org . You guys are doing a great job so far developing this promising mod and I can hardly wait for it to be released! Keep up the good work!!  :)

I have a question/issue to raise regarding the Soviet casualties which I haven't seen being discussed in any topic so far.
We know that Russians have a LOT of cheap infantry which can't retreat, meaning it will take massive casualties. By looking at this fact, I'm concerned about the 2v2 balance as an American or British player/ally could massively benefit from these cheap and massive casualties by gaining a ridiculus amount of free squads by their medic tent/casualty clearing stations. If this was to happen, it would be catastrophic for the mod IMHO. What are your plans about this and how are you going to "counter" it? ???

Thanks in advance! Again, Keep up the good work!! :D
