[1.40]Does the new AI cheat?
« on: June 06, 2011, 10:45:35 PM »
So i was testing some new strats and new maps and etc against the AI. Ive overhelmed him several times on several maps in first few minutes, but then miraculously he recovered and pushed me back to my base and i was almost beaten (Hard AI), until my armor came for the rescue. This has happened to me both as playing as a Axis and as Allies. So i wonder does this new AI cheat? Does he get some +1000 manpower income when hes desperate or am i just dreaming?  ???

Look at the ressource income at the game stats. Ai gets double MP income ;) (at least for expert)

Also the cpu always knows where you got a hole in your defense and right there it attacks.

Hi there,

don´t got that feeling that the AI is really doing that. Playing a lot of games Wehr 1:1 against sowiet AI on Hard and Expert Level and it spams wave on wave of naval soldiers at the point of the map where I got my hardest defence. No russian tanks were built in this games, no mortars, no Anti Tank infanty, no snipers...just normal infantry and commando troup and than for the rest of the game only naval soldiers. In the meantime it was easy for me to capture the other side of the map. Happened on Kotelnikovo.
Also playing americans or soviets against Wehr AI, it spams stugs till the end of game. For me it was never so easy to win a game against the AI on level hard since this last update.

Regards, Caen44.

Like I've said somewhere else, AI has a hardcoded bug where it spams off-map units when it gets them.

Hi Rizz,

what about the old THQ bug that AI is spaming Katyushas and Priests till the end of game not producing any other unit. Also that this mobile artillery is driving to enemy lines till it will be destroyed. Can you guys do anything against that?

Best regards,

Caen44.

I find the issue to be Stug spam for Wehr when BK isn't used.

I have had the same experience with  map control changing back and forth radically 2,3 times during a game. I  think it is really refreshing and an improvement to AI in general.  (Still OP for me at expert level though).

I  had the same thing happen two consecutive games on same map.  Boring,  boring ... BUT.... it gave me the opportunity to play with my mortar HT.  Every machine has sweet spots where it operates better or in the case  of CPUs optimizes the numbers effectively; (consider it as fine tuning  an old radio). If you use ranging shots with ground attack on indirect  fire weapons and observe the shot fall or craters you will discover an  epicenter around which the CPU impacts your shots. This is the sweet  spot. It is not usually the aiming point but I think there is a  relationship between your aim point and the sweet spot. I now aim mortar  ground attacks not at the target spot but offset so the sweet spot is  the target area.  When I use this AI or pvp I target choke points then  allow the mortar to free fire. My mortars vet faster. I hope I haven't  bored you to tears. If the AI cheats, then when life gives you lemons  make Daqueries
