Propaganda
« on: May 31, 2010, 02:08:59 PM »
Was in a game yesterday and I decided to go Propaganda. I made it to God of War. I clicked on a sector the enemy was trying to take, they split. Well the arty rounds just kept coming, random shots all over a huge area. Not alot at once just one here then later one there for a long time. It was hitting me and my teamates. One of the guys types in "where the hell is all this arty coming from", I say "I dont know", lol.

First time I've used it, I thought it was like PEs sector arty but its not. Anyone here use it and if so how? It just doesn't make since to me, and it takes alot of command points to get to it.

Ok, I read thru your link, thanks btw. From what I can gather the only use is to penetrate deep into enemy territory, grab the sector, drop it there and run like hell.

Am I correct in assuming the arty does not just land it that sector but in sectors around it?

It basically more or less denies a large map area to your opponent from a brief period of time...while you concentrate on the other side with your force.

Thing about God of war that I dont like is that you need 9CPs to get it! IMO it should be available earlier (just like PE sector arti - 5CPs).

Whole Commando tree is only 11CPs so why not giving God of war a bigger chance to make a difference on the battlefield and making it cost only 3CPs (not 6). Its not as powerfull (accurate) as the defensive rockets or V1 and cant be dropped on enemy base.

This would give Soviets a chance to play more defensively using MG nests, tank hunter camo and mines, sharpshooter ambush and smoke and other defensive units/abilities.

IMHO it should be possible to use GoW in area of enemy base, because germans could use Fau and other stuff on area of allied base...

that's not a good idea. i have seen an soviet player using GoW near to my base and that was it...it kept bombing my hole base+units...game over. so for balancing reasons NO GoW in enemy base sectors!
SE can only be used on your own sectors and henschel doesn't attack inf and buildings. firestorm, v1, etc. are just active for a sort time and they have a limit because of their munitions cost while GoW doesn't cost munitions.

There defiantly should be GoW in enemy territory! Yes in cuts both ways, but its so inaccurate the only way to do any real damage is to use it smack dab in the enemies base!

That's the theory. Usually if my enemy uses GoW I just ignore it though. It is pretty damn ineffective. It needs a much tighter barrage radius.

God of War needs to be rethought a little bit - just a little bit. Maybe reducing it back down to 5CP, reducing the affected area a bit, and maybe make the rounds drop a wee bit faster? (Also, I'm not sure if GoW has them or not. But I would remove the red markers too)

Holy god no.

It is completely disruptive to infantry - they cannot reliably get though, a direct hit will obliterate an entire squad and thin skinned troop transports are no protection (resulting in loss of both machine and infantry).

As a PE player I can firmly confirm that when GoW is in effect the ONLY things I send through are tanks - and inf transports, hell for leather!

I'd leave it as-is - it's tough, effective, very "russian" and very exciting.

I mean, those explosions are HUGE! How cinematic is that!?

Holy god

Thanks for using my correct title  ;D.

Seriously though, I've had it used against me many times and used it myself. I find it extremely ineffective and I have no problems sending my entire force through with absolutely minimal casualties. When I first heard about the power before the mod was to be released I was like "hell yeah!" but now it's quite the disappointment. While propaganda is my favourite tree, I usually go to kats then start going the other side and get this horrible power last.

Sure when it hits, it hits hard but you aren't likely to be hit more than a couple times during the entire barrage.
If you get into an argument with me, you're wrong.
