What do you mean why? No one wants a bad voice actor who doesn't know anything about the language they're voicing.
If Germans can tolerate the pios, volks, and tanks butchering German pronounciation every once in a while, I'm sure everyone else can suffer through similar errors with the Soviets.

Ye, something like "Was wunschen Sie? What do you want?!" (usually it's "Was wünschen Sie?")
Or:

"Scheiße, we are sorounded!" (Means "Shit, ...")
Or:

Fallschirmjager. (Fallschirmjäger)

So, stick with Russian for the Soviet faction. :P

I'm a noob so the first game i played was on normal. I actually nearly got beaten as they flanked my defenses very cleverly and when i didnt have too many AT wepaons they even used Bergetier's which i've never saw happen before. In the end though. 2 ISU's and a shit load of infantry lead me to victory

Hey WartyX, I think Fhurion is right, they should think the main communication language first before developing this mod(English) because accodring to the very old Law (Order No. 00012 of 1917)just before Russo-
Japanese War, that all of the high ranked military personel "must" know
to speak english, if someone doesn't obey this, his or her will be arrested(accoring to prime minister Vladimir Kokovtsov) you cannot find this law, except you will find it exactly on philippine national museum in the book entitled (which is russian) "Редкие законов империи Русский" gruadually i'm a only Filipino Fan playing and studying COH for almost 5 Years.

Well you'd need a Russian volunteer or a really talented non-Russian otherwise the English speaking Soviets would just sound corny and lame.

Why?

because they would sound corny and lame. as he said. main factions are very well done. i dont want to be disappointed with soviets cuz of someones bad pathetic accent imitation. thou i dont think ef crew would let that happen. so i dont have a thing to worry about :).

tbh, i'd prefer all factions speaking on their own, native language. like in age of empires.

thou i like a lot and always makes me laugh in positive way when they say - this one comes fresh from the assembly line in Dresden. ^^

German language School for English speakers -

1. Change all W's to V's
2. Shout angrily

Pretty much it. ;)

I would do a Russian one, but I do a terrible Russian accent, although being Scottish I do roll my R's perfectly.

1. Roll R's
2. Pronounce 'Y's even if the word contains none
3. Talk in a deep, slow, gravelly voice
4. Every third word is 'Comrade'

But now I'm just stereotyping...

Burro - I am hardly waiting to have a free time with my relatives out of my home - to record voices for ZiS-2 :) I need shout very loud, and I dont want my relatives to hear it :)

Some ideas:

When clicking to unit:
"Ствол длинный - жизнь короткая - это про нас!"
"Long barrel - short life" - Yeah, it's about us, heh"
"Слыхали, как нас прозвала пехота? "Прощай Родина!"
"Did You ever heard, how our infantry men call us? "Good bye,Motherland!"
"Противотанкисты геройски погибнуть готовы, товарищь майор!"
"Antitank men are ready to die like a heroes, tovarisch major!"
"А если я погибну, товарищ майор - прошу считать меня коммунистом!"
"And if I will die in action, consider me as communist!"
"Говорят, у фрицев новые танки? Вот и испытаем на них нашу пушечку!"
"They say, fritzes have niow new tanks, heh? Lets test our new cannon, fellows!"

ZiS-2 in combat with tanks+infantry:
"Внимание - танки! Орудия к бою!"
"Attention - tanks! Prepare for combat!"
"Прицел 5! Бронебойно-подкалиберным! По танкам - Беглым! Огонь!"
"Distasnce 5, undercaliber armour-piercing! Target - tanks, at will! Cannon ! FIRE!"
"Прицел 4, бронебойным, один снаряд зарядить! Орудие!!! ВЫСТРЕЛ!"
"Distasnce 4, armour-piercing, one shell load! Cannon ! FIRE!"
"Не ссы в трусы, Палыч, подпускай танки ближе и бей!"
"Dont piss Your pants, Palych - let them come closer and shoot!"
"Внимание - ТАНКИ НА БАТАРЕЕ! Разворачивай орудие! Быстрее, мать твою!"
"Attention - tanks are on our position! Rotate the gun - quick, damn You!"
"Прицел 2, картечью! По пехоте - Беглым! Огонь!"
"Distance 2, case-shot prepare! Target - infantry, at will - FIRE!

Very nice told Artilerist.

This is translated version.

"The trunk long - life is short - it is about us!"
"Long barrel - short life" - Yeah, it's about us, heh "
"Did you hear, as we nicknamed the infantry?" Farewell my country! "
"Did You ever heard, how our infantry men call us?" Good bye, Motherland! "
"Protivotankisty ready to die heroically, Major!"
"Antitank men are ready to die like a heroes, tovarisch major!"
"And if I perish, Major - please consider me a communist!"
"And if I will die in action, take me as communist!"
"They say Krauts new tanks? Here and tested on them our cannon!"
"They say, fritzes have niow new tanks, heh? Lets test our new cannon, fellows!"

ZiS-2 in combat with tanks + infantry:
"Warning - tanks! Guns to fight!"
"Attention - tanks! Prepare for combat!"
"Sight 5! Armor kinetic energy ammunition! On the tank - quick!" Fire! "
"Distasnce 5, undercaliber armour-piercing! Target - tanks, at will! Cannon! FIRE!"
"Sight 4, piercing, one projectile charge! Gun! SHOT!"
"Distasnce 4, armour-piercing, one shell load! Cannon! FIRE!"
Do not ssy in shorts, Palych, podpuskaya tanks closer and hit me! "
"Dont piss Your pants, Palych - let them come closer and shoot!"
"Warning - Tanks on the battery! Gun opened it! Hurry, your mother!"
"Attention - tanks are on our position! Rotate the gun - quick, damn You!"
"Sight 2, grapeshot! The infantry - quick!" Fire! "
"Distance 2, case-shot prepare! Target - infantry, at will - FIRE!

Yeah, nice :) Is it Google translator?

"Беглым" means "fire at will", not "quick".

Use google translator if you have problems with other languages.
I don't know almost anything about russian speak, but i would like that....

http://translate.google.com/#ru

Your life will be more easy now.

:)

Edit : by the way => i was artillerist some time ago,and love artillery pieces. My training was with mortar 120mm,and howitzer 120mm.In time of war,i will go at my unit to gain what is need, as a commander of howitzer. My training was as a servant one

I would like very much to  see more artillery pieces/models on the battlefield, and less tanks.Tactics will be changed allot if tanks will be more rare and expensive...at last for few factions...

Even in WW2,tanks was far less in number than artillery.
