I can set the AI to focus on fuel more the harder the AI is, that might fix the delay the sometimes have in sending out tanks
I thought fuel priority was standard even for retail! You absolutely have to raise fuel priority for Hard A.I! Without it, they're done for! What bonuses do they get on Hard btw? Mostly wondering if they get +% bonus or a flat bonus.

I played on small 1v1 maps such as Semois, Langres, Novorysk and two-three others. Standard settings.
Tried many times now using Ostheers Luchs II, soviets T-70 (first tank in both support building and tank hall) and both Ostheer and soviets fall to it (as well as US). They put up a good fight until the first tanks hit the field. After that they always die as they have no antitank.
Playing as Ostheer I even get 'Infantry Support' (grenades) before researching the Luchs II so I'm not rushing to tanks.
It must be noted that I can do this since I focus on holding the main fuelpoints and negating the enemies fuel. I think it can be solved by making the A.I focus more on fuel and cutting me off better.

I just tried Eastern Front again after a year and I like it! This design is the best yet! I tried Ostheer twice and soviets once vs A.I. soviets have like +299 manpower even after I had like three conscriptsquads. I guess conscripts don't affect manpower income? If you use the Mayors Strafnie ability on a conscriptsquad, does the Strafniesquad become better if the conscriptsquad had Full Rifles? Landsers. I like that they're better now! Much appreciated! I guess their first upgraded gun is excellent at short range but what about the MKB weapon? What ranges are it strong at? A.I for both Ostheer and soviets is bad but I guess A.I is done last (like in all games). Bit unnecessary but why not: Can you add some icon or something to the doctrineabilities in the trees that tell if it is an active or passive ability? Spellcheck, can't you implement words to it? It wants to change Ostheer to Esther Oyster too

I am very worried about incoming changes- lots of call-in units (which are VERY expensive- what kind of player has so many resources floating without use?) which replace abilities (so munis will become redundant again for most of ability trees), however those Tiger pics are sweet. Still I can't wait to see it in action
Be at ease. Wehr and Ostheer need all the munitions they can get.

You play US, I play Wehr.
You want to go for a quick M8 and therefore get the Supply Yard and Motor Pool as fast as possible. I go for Kriegbarracks <---- I can get counters to your M8 now. Your response should be to: 1. Cancel Supply Yard if it's not completed. 2. Cancel Motor Pool.
In any case, you should go for BARs. That will make my Schrecks and AT-guns useless.
You have to understand the factions to really know what to do in a given situation. But disregarding that, just think logically. "Ok so Campaigner has Grenadiers. That means LMG 42s and Panzerschrecks + he can get AT-guns, Mortars and Halftracks. It also means he has to either get T3 or T4 since it's too expensive to get both" <--- BARs and supportunits (Snipers and/or Mortars) will work greatly until I would get Pumas or Stugs out.

Hey, brand new here. Are people still doing this? Steam name is Ben_D. I guess according to the OP I'm between tier 2 & 3. I have on and off games. I've been playing since summer 2013. I happen to be on atm, but it's pretty late and I'm not getting my hopes up for anything. I'm up for anything except skirmishes.
This mod is really coming along from what I can read. I hope it comes to full development.
There are over 10 Ben D guys so add me instead. I added several of you people.

Insert the trenches ! The game looks poor, needs more extras like Blitzkrieg.Streamline game but not too much.
Two things I dislike.... Have you thought how the game would become with trenches..? I have! Boring standoffs.

You yourself already noticed that US also get access to their main infantry unit pretty early and do not need other infantry apart from them. Versatility isn't always a good thing. You need to know which unit types you want to focus on, else you'll get destroyed by concentrated enemy forces.
They may not need other infantry but it's definitely good to have. You mean focusing on as in getting them and getting their upgrade in the armory ? That I support but about versatility I thought about giving units new roles like grenades, AT, longrange and shortrange improved firepower. The Strelky being the strongest example I can think about with its three individual upgrades. Also, I really doubt that soviets are easier to play than any other faction in the game. Afaik USA are way more easy to pickup and play than Soviets. Because you need to plan ahead as Soviet to win. You can't just spam conscripts and tech randomly and expect to win the game single-handedly.
Actually spamming conscripts and getting them Full Rifles seems to be a key strategy for the AI. Gives your crappy cappers good fighting power. They outrange Landsers with those.... While as USA you can just spam riflemen, get all their upgrades and wreck the enemy. As soviet you'll need a lot more to win. Support weapons, light tanks, heavy tanks, support infantry, main infantry + all their upgrades make soviets more challenging to play. At least that's my personal opinion on this matter.
OK, you should know the US rifles thing is false. Getting all those upgrades immediately gives you great power but a dedicated counter like Pumas/Armored Cars/whatever Ostheer has shuts it down HARD! I can agree that soviets require a bit more planning than US. If they were to fight eachother we could see it clearly Also, saying that Landsers aren't a valuable unit is a mistake from your part. They are just like rifles in role, get them to vet up, tech mp40s and you win every engagement really.
I was focusing on the main infantry. But do you mean that MP40 Landsers beat other early upgraded infantry ?

I strongly feel that soviets are way easier to play than any other faction in the game. I believe that the main reasons for that are twofold. - Fewer necessary buildings
- All important infantry in the Mustering Tent (Commissar, Strelky and Guards)
You will almost always build the Mustering Tent (like US builds barracks), Armory and either the Tank Hall or Weapon Support Center so you will get Strelky which are solid, versatile units. Ostheer has to go tier 3 or choose Elite doctrine to get a solid infantryunit. Wehrmacht have to to tier 2 or choose Blitzkrieg doctrine to get their solid, versatile infantry. US got it easy with their Rifles, the most versatile infantryunit in the GAME! They also get strong infantry in two out of three doctrines so they're covered. The other two factions are not invited. Strelky also got three possible upgrades (longrange, shortrange and AT) so they're always useful. Think Navals also were a safe choice. So soviets with their versatility seem to always be able to answer. Modern Combat have the same problem. US have three buildings, PLA have four (excluding HQ) so it's harder to get the correct units out with PLA since you have to spend so damn much on buildings.

Scout cars is like the Jeep and Motorbike so it should harass at range. It can also get an upgrade to lockdown so you get more resources from a sector.
Kettenkrads exist to capture points. It's that and the special doctrineabilty. Panzergrenadiers capture a bit slow so use kettens for that.
It's much safer to go tier 2 but tier 1 can work sometimes, especially on larger maps and teamgames where you can lockdown sectors quickly.

Any plans for pushing MP games? Like creating a portal post about it with a dedicated thread? The one above is outdated by years so it should be recreated. Until that happens however, we can get together here You should say: What type of game you want to play: 1v1, 2v2, VPs, Annihilate (friggin n00b.... ) Your skillevel if you feel like it. Steamname. - Tier 1 - Prolvl. Knows almost everything, always knows what to do and never forgets his units
- Tier 2 - Skilled. Knows alot to almost everything. Mostly knows what to do but sometimes forgets about a unit
- Tier 3 - Average. Knows little to alot. Basically knows what to do but lack the micro & macro to actually do it. Forgets units
I consider myself a tier 2 player in vCoH and tier 2.5 at the moment in Eastern Front due to not knowing all the units and the ranges they are effective at etc. I like standard tournament rules of 1v1, 500VP and swapping factions with the enemy. No annihilate. No brits! Campaigner82 <--- Steamname
