Afaik, Victory target works with normal brits but not with RMC. This bug has been fixed in the internal beta .
Great work again! RMC provides a very interesting infantry army...

Victor target should be available as soon as first 25 pounder Howitzer has been built. Actually it is available not before first priest is rolling into the field. Interestingly 25 pounders are firing once victor target is triggered.
This way victor target is available only with RCA, not with commandos or engineers.

Suggestion: Limit retreat to when medic truck is stationary (healing is activated).

Hi all,
about every 2nd EF game hangs on my system. I don't have this problem when playing ordinary CoH OF. This time I played soviets. It was a 2vs map (Tannenberg) with a normal npc on each side. Axis where 2 Wehrmacht. I just got hit by a nebelwerfer and tried to rescue at least one AT gun. Each time this happens the screen freezes. The last sound is repeated forever. Often I am able to kill the task with the task manager - but not always. It would be interesting whether I am the only one having this kind of problems or if it happens more often. Dump file is empty.
Thanks in advance. Great mod anyway!!!

Did a medic truck even had a radio? Why should the Soviets retreat there? This makes no sense. Rraising the reinforcement cost for the Soviets? Another idea that would make Soviets less Sovietish.
But it does make sense that you have a munition upkeep on the medic track? I learned in other threads that this game is not about reality... Having a place to retreat to within field would help keep the soviets in combat at the front.

Then you mercilessly crush them.. I think its a good idea. By the time my squad is reinforced at my hq the battles over... Perhaps a better idea is retreat to medic truck? Those are so weak and slow you could kill them before they got anywhere important.
IMHO retreat to medic truck sounds even better then retreat to Command Squad. And no sane player will drive his medic truck directly into German AT guns. And if any German player is afraid that Soviets will gain an unfair advantage with this ability you could increase reinforcement costs slightly.

In my opinion the A.I. for the British faction is broken from the very start. As a British player you normally raise your command vehicle as soon as possible and use it to secure resources. Especially a high munition point. I haven't seen the A.I. doing this ever. But playing the British faction is much more complicated then the others in my opinion. Placing and using trenches correctly is hard even for a human player. And IMHO trenches are the one reason why it is ok that British units are that awfully expensive.

What about a retreat to Command Squad ability like the Brits have (Retreat to Captain)? That way even the medic truck would make sense compared to a stationary medic bunker. On large maps it takes a lot of time retreating units back to the base, reinforcing and then getting them back to battle. All other factions have mobile reinforcement through Inf HT. Even the Brits can move their command vehicles if they really want to. With a Retreat to Command Squad ability things would be a little more balanced in my opinion. There was a similar discussion with no final result: or

Perhaps instead of a specific tank rider squad, The special, rideable, t34 could carry one squad of anything you choose.
What about a retreat to Command Squad like the Brits have (Retreat to Captain) instead? That way even the medic truck would make sense. All other factions do have mobile reinforcement. Russians can build static outposts. But when I'm going to lose a squad I normally retreat. Especially if it's pinned. I will open a new thread for discussion.

I would like to know why are you doing this?
And that's the reason as you already found out .
We had a longer thread about that topic already, look here: http://easternfront.org/forums/index.php?topic=4332.msg43746#msg43746and all the replies. In my opinion the major problem is that it is expected that players read the quoted ChangeLog 1.20 in detail. My suggestion is to point out the munition upkeep in the unit description. Or even better with a special icon in the cost overview. If you know that your munition income will go down to zero if you go for AT guns you have a chance to counter it, e.g. by favouring Tank Hunters to AT guns and supporting it with SU-85 against Ostwinds and Inf. HT.

Not that GoW is devastating in any way...
+1
yeah something needs to be done about it
It is interesting where this topic leads ... Ok, I learned that I just like the wrong maps, that there are maps like Tannenberg where fuel is the scarce resource. But I still dare to ask whether munition upkeep couldn't at least be taken from the medical truck. It just doesn't make sense...

I loled at the mention of Cottbus.
Actually I do like that map, even that it is short concerning munition points. Ok, thx, I didn't know that outposts can be used to secure resources. That helps. But still with the recent changes I'm short on munition when playing soviet. There would be neither enough munition left for running God of War nor IL-2 bombing.

Hi all, first: thanks a lot for this mod. But I think that the ammo upkeep weakens the soviets way too much. In 1.22 you added ammo costs for IL-2 and God of war. PPS-43 for command squad now costs 100 munition. Every upgrade does cost munition, either for Strelky, flame throwers for engineers, ... E.g. on Cottbus in a balanced situation you get 20 munition income as soviet player. All that income is spent with medic truck, 2 mortar + 2 AT guns. After that you can't tech up any more. My suggestion: Soviets cannot secure resource points, that's why they don't need resources for abilities like throwing grenades. Just either drop that upkeep idea completely or at least drop it for light tanks and units like mortar, AT gun, medic truck, ... and cut it at least in half for medium and heavy tanks. Regards polkovnik
