AI Freezes on the Prague Map
« on: September 29, 2013, 10:33:08 PM »
I stumbled across this bug back in the first version of the mod in which the Ostheer was made publicly available, and testing the latest version I notice that the problem is still present. As the human player if I play with an AI ally, if my base is at the bottom of the map near the river, there are no problems at all: both my AI ally and the enemy AIs on the top side of the map function properly. However, if the situation is reversed: if as the human player my base is at the top of the map, both of the enemy AIs do not know what to do, and simply sit around in their base by the river. What is strange is as I mentioned, if my base is down by the river than my ally AI does function - the AI only seems to experience problems if both of the players on the team by the river are AIs. Whether this problem is resolved with another player being in the game on the otherside is not clear, as I have not yet had the chance to test it with another human player.

I might have an insight into this, although I was pretty sure that the fix I suggest here was already implemented into the recent version.

Under two circumstances can the placement of map objects cause the AI to freeze and refuse to move all game: if a capturable resource point is merged with another object, which should not be the case in this map. All flags should be clear. Secondly, however, is if a base bunker is merged within another object. Because certain MG nests are a different shape and size to the bunker_marker itself, they can merge unintentionally, and this will cause the AI to stop still.

The reason why this is not the case when you are down by the river however is because you own the bunkers that are causing the issues. What player slot are you using? 1 or 2?
