EF v1.1 crashing
« on: May 26, 2010, 06:36:30 PM »
Following your suggestion, I'm making a new topic about the crashes I experience with EFv1.1

As i said, have never had EF crash before, it only happened after i updated to v1.1. Actually the game only crashed after quite some times i tried to load/play the Zhytomyr map on a skirmish. The set up was just me playing PE and the AI playing the Russian Army.
After preesing the "start" button, the screen changed normaly to the loading screen where it starts filling that "loading bar" up to approximately 80-90% and then i get an error (see the screen shot), to view the error message i have to Alt-Tab to it and to unlock the game i have to manually end it via the Task Manager.

See the uploaded files as per your request. I hope you can trace the error down and suggets/provide a solution  :-[

Thanks in advance,

Doc

Do you get this problem on any other maps?

If your running on Ultra High GFX setting, try on High and see what the results are then.

Id look for updates with your GFX drivers aswell, looks like its out of date.

I'll try updating to the lates ATI drivers (i am using the ASUS EAH4670 vga card) and see if it helps.
As for the settings, I don't have it on ultra high (just high)

no this is a unreleated problem, this is a crash before a game.

I think this crash may be a graphical issue, this was my first impression though.

I just updated to the latest ATI drivers (v10.4) and played a few games in skirmish mode with success (same as before though).

But again when i tried to play in Zhytomyr map the same exact problem occured  :-[ .

I got the same exact error message and the game stoped responding while in the loading screen. I have yet again included all the files in case you find out what causes it.

Any ideas ?  ???

Is it only on the Zhytomyr Map?

Anyway, here's the "error", dunno what it means to be honest, I don't know what it mean - more then an error occurred at line 554 of worldcommand.c, but since I don't have the source code... I can check with cope later today, he know more about this then I do.

Code: [Select]
03:59:13.12   DB -- Unable to load symbols.
SIM -- Removing unknown command receiver (1,27605)
-- FATAL EXIT --
worldcommand.c/554:!
--stack trace--

[CoH:EF-Dev]Walki: got a decent one?

Thanks for taking the time to help me out on this, really appreciate it !

And yes it only happens on Zhytomyr map (at least so far... haven't played all of the EF maps yet, but quite a few). Will let you know if it occurs in any other map too.

Alright, cope needs the dump file. Create a crash and then in the bug report, click "more details" (or what it says) and in the list there's a file ending with .dmp that should be in your temp folder. Find it (make sure the name & time are correct) and upload it here.

I don't see any improvement in stability, in fact probably less so.  One new feature is I'm finding EF players crashing at the same time - not just one player failing, but all.  Attached are files from tonight's latest crash.

I'll gladly do that.

But please can you explain in which directory is theat "temp" folder ? Cause I don't even get a "bug report" after the crash (see my previous screebshot to see what i get after the game crashes/freezes)

WIll upload the files as soon as I know where and how to find them.

Click Windows + R and enter %appdata% (with the %)

Then it's under one of the subfolders (Vista/Win 7 is Local/Temp).

Actually, I found out that you can enter %temp% instead.
