Don't know much about the capablities of artillery in World War II so I'm just going off what I do know.

Standing up for my nation, if the 17 pounder was one of the best anti-tank guns then I'd imagine the 25 pounder was one of the best artillery guns.

152 mm howitzer gun M1937 (ML-20):
Out of my view one of "the best" artillery guns.
A high calibre of 15cm. Heavy shells. Used as normal
artillery gun and as self propelled gun.
Think of the ISU 152.

German soldiers called this gun "schwarze Sau" ( "black sow" )
because the shells had a typical detonation sound and a typical detonation impact ( a 152mm shell coloured the ground in and around the impact black ).
Germans were so impressed by this gun that they formed artillery formations out of captured russian guns with calibre 152mm.
E.g. Panzer-Lehr-Division had ML-20 guns for division artillery batteries and not german guns.
Such a canon had to be the best when it was used at germanys best division!
May the force be with you.

Uff ... what for all those inquiry?
There is NO DATA in acquaint part.
There is no subdivision events ...
What artillery you are placing fo inquiry?
Divisionary, Corps artillery, Battalion artillery, special perpose units?

Thats is my chose ...

Corps gun:
A-19, 122mm gun 1931/37
Most used ammunition units sended fer than 18K meters.
Equivalent guns from other countries:
British 114-мм BL 4,5 inch
American 4,5 inch Gun M1
But only british have near Soviet gun technical data, with very few nambers build for very needed war years.

Gun for special perpose
280mm mortar 1939  (BR-5)
Near 10K meters far ammo can be shoot.
No analogue.
Only german few specimen for railroad platforms. Poor mobility, & no mass production.

Division gun
M30 122mm howitzer 1938
Very successfully prodused gun by General Grabin.
Most shells can be sended to 8K-12K meters.
No special copy for comparision. Therefore no other army prodused divicion gun more than 100-107mm caliber. More than 150mm is for special conversation.

Special comparision corner
D-1 Soviet Howitzer 1943
It's for special army order. The Key - mobility with heavy punch effect. It's "duplicate" of the gun-carriage unit with M-30 gun.
This howitzer in ton to give with characteristics to other nations specimens.
15cm heavy field howitzer s.F.H.18
155mm howitzer M1
149mm howitzer "Ansaldo"
They have a few more biger shoot distance, but with more sense of weight, & mor difficalt with mobility.
French 155mm Shneider howitzer 1917
Take the way to D-1 with weight & range.
12K meters long shoot.

(Any way, westarn fronts is no that extension, like eastern front. With identical condisions, Soviet howitzer is little more favorable, because of weight & mobility.)

That's all for now.

... fotos, almost forget.

D-1

BR-5

A-19

M30

To Lord Rommel
Yeas, ML gun-howitzer is especially weapon. One of the most successful artillery gun of the Kursk battle, that can easy penetrate new german tanks.
If i am not rong, field charge of that cannon can displace tank turret of all nazi tanks.
Ammunition fragments can take wounded large mass of the enemy soldiers & damage most of the enemy armor units.
Forvard placed transmission on most nazi tanks is most susceptibilities with characteristics of the gun ... fatal point of their construction for now.
Range - near 17K meters

@ Sturmovik: Why do insist on calling it Nazi tanks and weapons, why not just German?

On topic; I love the 105mm, but in game I would say the Priest(mainly because of the sound:p)

Sturmovik is right about the Soviet guns. Soviets had some of the best and modern guns in the world in 1941. People seem to forget about that.

But I love the the 25lbs A.K.A. "the British 88".

Historically, Russia has always had excellent artillery and cannon units. It probably stems from their wars with the Ottoman empire.

@ Sturmovik: Why do insist on calling it Nazi tanks and weapons, why not just German?

It's not principle, it's historical.
Now it is a german military.
During WW2 - Wermaht is the weapon of the Nazi Reich, tools of the agressive politics of the "new order".
War times fades the german people, ... war crimes of the nazi regime takes no alternative, than give name for all that acts - fascism, nazi ...
After may of 1945, Reich, & Nazional-Socialism is falling with last volleys of the war in Europe.

I vote for M1942 (SIS-3) and M1937 (ML-20).

The SIS-3 was especially in the early time of the war a feared weapon for German soldiers, they called it "Ratsch-Bumm", for its characteristic sound caused by the supersonic velocity.

ML-20 because of what Lord Rommel told us.  ;)

@ Sturmovik:
Fascism isn't National-Socialism. In Soviet Union, maybe both were the same, but actually, they aren't. I would also recommend to use something other than this "Nazi-there and Nazi here"-stuff.  :)
Only a minority of German and Germany's Allies' soldiers were real "Nazis". It's the same like saying every people in Soviet Union was a Communist.
