Skirmish Error
« on: February 13, 2011, 10:21:19 PM »
I was playing this mod in 2 skirmish matches, but the game crashed both times during the skirmishes. It's not graphics because the second time it crashed, my framerate was fine. Here's some info:

-I was playing custom maps not from the original game or eastern front.
-I played as Americans both times.
-I was playing on Annihilate without population cap gamemode.
-Both maps were 4v4.
-My allies were one American Army, one British Army, and one Soviet Army.
-My enemies were two Wehrmacht armies and two Panzer Elite armies.

When I got the error message, it showed up in the taskbar, but it did not actually appear. I could not click out of the game and I was unable to see the actual error message. On the taskbar, all it said was ERROR. Is it just that Annihilate without population cap is unstable? Thanks for the help!

You should upload your warnings.log & dmp file right after the crash.

How do I do so? I can't view the error message.

Thanks for the link. Looks like I'll have to either lower the settings a bit or turn off mozilla while playing. I think my memory usage is almost 100% while playing in a 4v4 skirmish match. Guess it is graphics. :(

Thanks for the help!

3 gigs RAM
x1650 Pro
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs)

I only lowered the textures from high to medium. Still looks nice and runs better. However, the game crashed again with the same error message coming up. The error message itself stops responding before I can ever view it.

I think the problem might be that the AI mass produces units. On a 4v4 map, that will really slow down my computer. Maybe that's why I keep getting the error message?

(I never got this message in campaign.)

If you have a 32 bits OS, perhaps you get a "TEMP folder full" error :-\...

When you have chance to upgrade to Win7 x64 you will see the difference ;). You can try closing some programs that don't need to be working while playing EF and also using Game Booster could help you a little. Activate it before starting EF and deactivate it after closing it.

Ah ok thanks. I think that's what I get. I guess I'll turn off Mozilla while playing it and Spy Sweeper to. That should free up about 250 mbs of RAM. I'll try out that Game Booster to. :D

what maps? EF ones, vCoh ones or community made ones ( which have many many bugs)?
