The map description. It says both the German and Soviets wanted the area to capture something.

I admit it. I read the map descriptions while waiting.

You mean this?

Quote
Scouting parties have found a strange-looking landmark. The atmosphere here is certainly peculiar, and whatever this place holds, the General personally ordered its capture for 'research'. And who would ever build so many windmills?

Yes that's the one.

lol... you know, that map was going to be called "tunguska" at the begining of EF but iirc Dragon and WartyX help to avoid it :P.

So from Tunguska to Madam Moiselle or whatever. Wow.

Tunguska is way East of any WW2 fighting, Apex was being uptight about map names, wouldn't let us have Psel or Lehrter Bahnhof despite being places where fighting took place, but thought Tunguska would be a good name for this map. It was changed to Tannenburg in accordance with his own rules that he tried to break.

But yeah, the map was made by Whiteflash from Reborn over at Gamereplays before we scooped it up. Relic probably saw some potential as well. Dunno whether we should get rid of Tannenburg, or Alsace Moselle... no point in keeping both of them.

Get rid of Alsace Moselle: Tannenburg sounds better ;)

Is there any actual difference between the 2, or just the names? Because they looked a little different in the screenshots...

Not sure, haven't played on it yet since I assumed it would be the same, but Relic may have balanced it more before adding it.

This area is quite different:

In Eastern Front, the Victory Point is much further down, and there are more and higher walls around that area if i remember rightly. The way the high wall just stops shortly after the archway is really stupid...

It's the same map, but he added new things before submitting it to relic, in the same way a mapper improves his maps and let know everyone what he did in order to make them grab his new version and replace the older. The difference being we didn't know that this map was updated.
