Just checked it, everything seems fine, even your virtual memory seems to be enough. You won't find the dump file because your game didn't crash correctly, it just froze instead of sending you to the Desktop to see the BugSplatter app.

I would suggest for now to close RelicDownloader right after you run CoH: EF. You will find it on the system tray.

... hmmm - I was just testing that ... and that didn't help.

I also went to take a look at my CoH copy - and I tried loading a skirmish map, and the same issue as well. Maybe it's not just an EF issue? (I have ToV)

Do you use the steam version? Maybe some files are corrupted, in that case you would need to check the game cache integrity.

Also, so far, have you been getting issues with your PC lately or just CoH?

No steam; physical copy - Gold edition (I think), whichever has CoH + OF & ToV. I've had no issues playing EF when I was on Vista; then I migrated over to Win7. But then again, I only just got back into EF (or attempted to lol); last time I played EF on Vista was ... fall 2011 - so that was back in the earlier patches too - not sure if that makes a difference.

Nope, no issues w/ my PC.

Direct X 11 maybe? But then again, it shouldn't have issues if I don't have any ultra settings - and nonetheless being run on all low settings ...

[EDIT]I did some probing - tried to run a single player mission from EF - it crashed. Attaching files. Maybe this will help?

Are you sure you have installed everything?
  • DirectX libraries (all of them, not only DX11)
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

Could you check if you have "LuaExtCore.dll" and "FactionFix.dll" in your Company of Heroes folder?

What version did you download for EF?

I have both files in my CoH directory.

What do you mean by version? I don't specifically remember which version I left off with. All I remember was going from patch X and then jumping to patch 1.700 (Mod DB) - then the smaller patches via the EF launcher/updater.

In moddb we only have full installers, which means the install process should be like this:

  • Download installer from ModDB.
  • Install Eastern Front mod
  • Update Eastern Front mod
  • Play Eastern Front mod

As you installed EF in a custom path, did you check that it was being installed in the correct path? (installers and updates).

If you want to check if you have these components installed, you can look at your control panel and go for "Uninstall a Program" option.



If you don't have them listed, you need to download them and install them. If you do this, make sure you download the correct version of the software(x86 or x64).

I have everything but DirectX apparently. By library - do you mean 1-11? Or is that something else?

Paths appear to be installed to the correct directory.

For the Visual C++ I have both x86 & x64? That a problem?

Because DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 are not the same thing and having DirectX 11 doesn't mean you don't need to get DirectX 9.

If you don't have DirectX 9, all the games based on that routines won't run properly.

DirectX libraries = 9.0a/9.0b/9.0c + 10.0/10.1 + 11.0/11.1

All the libraries are packed in the same installer if you download it from Microsoft's site. DirectX 1 to 8 is deprecated from a long time ago, so no need to look for them.

... if it wouldn't trouble you, would you mind providing some links for the DX versions. I went to Microsoft's downloading center, and I can't figure out what versions are which, since they aren't labeled with any specific numbers ...

Hmmm - I used that one already, said it already had DX11/was up to date.
