That depends on the community. So what will you do? Continuing playing EF mod or ditch it in favor of Coh2?

Well sh!t... I half expect this to go the way of Dawn of War. If that's the case, we can expect better graphics, more factions (at least after official add-ons), and a change from company-strength forces battling to platoon-strength at best. If anyone has played (and loved) DoW, then played DoW2, you'll know what I mean.

I guess it will be only two factions; Wehr vs Soviets. I don't think they will add others here because it is not an expansion. A brand new game with a new designed Wehrmacht and Soviets.

IMO it depends on how well this new COH game goes. If its trash then Im sure ppl will defect here. If not then it was nice knowing you all

Okay, on the factions debate...

What happened with DoW1 was they saved a very popular faction and released it as a primary faction in DoW2. They later released 3 factions in expansion packs (4 were in the core game).
I expect 2 armies will be featured in the original release, with more coming in expansions.

I agree. Relic is no novice at creating interesting and downright addictive RTS experiences. Since Relic has stated they aren't leaving the CoH formula behind, but rather expanding and branching out with 'something that ain't broken, so they aren't gonna fix it' type of plan going on.

I would honestly have to be in favor of a CoH Eastern Front over a mod Eastern Front, as I trust professional game designers to do what they do best. But only time will tell if this new game will be worth it. If it is, well, nice knowing you guys. But lets wait and see =D

Unless COH2 is somehow substantially better than EF I will continue to play both. I've no doubt that Relic will try a few innovative things in COH2 that may not work out to well and will actually ruin the feel of CoH. I'm talking here about this mention of the snow drifts having an effect on tanks and such. I don't want CoH to be realistic. I don't want it to be small scale/tactical like DoW2. I want it to keep the awesome arcadey feel it always had. For now, I can say that most of the balancers and dev team are as committed to EF as ever and will work even harder to get OH to the community as fast as possible.
